PACKWOOD HANDMADE CHEDDAR 2.2 kilo truckles and Baby Cheddar
This is a handmade cheese made from
pasteurised cows milk. It has the characteristic cheddar texture
although it is slightly more moist due to the handmade
traditional methods used to make it. It is made
in two sizes of truckle and stored to mature naturally
so that it develops a natural rind. It is medium
strength and full of flavour. Suitable for vegetarians.
Suggestions
A cheese to be appreciated with crackers
or crusty bread and a good wine or beer. Ideal for the cheeseboard,
especially the individual Baby Cheddar, which also makes
a great gift. See recipe section.
SMOKED PACKWOOD CHEDDAR
This is the same cheese as the handmade Packwood Cheddar,
but after pressing it is smoked with oak wood to give
the rind a lovely golden colour and adds a mild smoky
flavour to the cheese.
Suggestions
Delicious with a crusty bread Ploughmans,
or with crackers or a salad.
