Woolsery
Cheese is set in the heart of the Dorset Downs and
at our dairy we produce a range of handmade cheeses using traditional
methods whilst maintaining the highest of hygiene standards.
We use milk from one herd of goats
that are fed as natural a diet as possible to ensure a good quality
milk which combined with the traditional production methods enables
us to obtain good quality cheeses. We use vegetarian rennet,
so our cheeses are suitable for vegetarians.
The original goat farm was set up
ten years ago producing only liquid milk but about seven years
ago started processing its own milk into cheese, with the first
type of cheese produced being a full fat hard goats cheese which
has very good keeping qualities.
Since then other cheeses have been
developed including cheese made from cows milk from local
farms and for which we have Soil Association certification. A
full list and description of all the cheeses may be found under
'Products'.

The cheeses have been entered into various competitions and
the Woolsery English Goats Cheese has won the coveted British
Cheese Awards 'Cheese Lovers Trophy' and other cheeses in the
range have won silver and bronze awards.
